The Reward

Day 6, 22 February 2011
We worked, therefore we must eat.
We cleared some emails and then headed out to try our luck at the cream puffs I've been reading about on Foursquare. The ride was pleasant, as like any other day... and look what I spotted along the way - dirty ducks! I had to make L stop, just so I could take these:

Does Dirty Duck Diner get their duckies from here!?
Speaking of which, Dirty Duck Diner got their name from these little darlings. Apparently, on one monsoon morning, just when the restaurant was about to be completed, a flock of ducks gatecrashed into the premises and left their muddy webbed prints all over the floor and tables! Now you know.

OK, back to my main point for this entry: the cream puffs at Kakiang Bakery. The tiny bakery wasn't too difficult to track down.

hey look, plenty of parking space too!

They were pretty well-stocked but also considering they probably just opened for the day. I was very focused, and made my order for 1 cream puff. I was pleasantly surprised (and well-pleased) that my cream puff was dished right outta the fridge. Yes, it was nice and chilled. Not like half-fucked chilled, but chilled at the right temperature. Kudos!

I forked a mouthful and it was deeeeeelicious! Like fresh, chilled, and deeeeelicious. You have to hunt this place down, and try it for yourselves! But I reckon you'll have to be here early or be disappointed they sell out towards the end of the day.
