A piece of DVD is readily-available most parts of Singapore, but not in Bali it seems. We searched the whole of Kuta, and Matahari, only to be re-directed to 'Electronics City' (Discovery Mall, Kuta). When we got there, sure, they sold dvd, but not the regular ones though; the mini ones! Who would have thought they were so advanced? (Apparently lotsa tourists need these for their mini-camcorders) Feeling despondent, we headed back towards our hotel and L cleverly suggested to check out the internet cafes. Now why didn't I think of that! Camera trigger-happy tourists will probably want to toast their photos onto a disc!
But as luck would have it, they're either sold-out or costs too much in the internet cafes. Damn. We were all tired out and thirsty by this time, so we headed into a small mom & pop shop to get a drink. And what did we see, in the window-display? A whole container of regular-sized DVDs! God-save! We bought 2 pieces and thought this was the end of our crisis. Uh-uh. L's macbook refuses to acknowledge those DVDs. And so we're back to square one.
To cut the long story short, we managed to output the DVDs and have them delivered to the clients on time, and in working order no less... oh yes, from where we were.
Oh yes, despite the little "crisis", we made (and facebooked) a new friend today.
