The Growing Up Years

I played mj with 2 close friends yesterday (yes, we were short of 1 person so we made do with 3-person mj) and have come to realise how our lives have changed/evolved over the years.

When we were 21, all we thought about or looked forward to were Fridays and Saturdays, where to party (and be seen), where were the coolest/hippiest place(s) to hang out and where we could talk and "torn the night". Boat Quay, Mohammad Sultan, Mambo Jumbo @ Zouk and Hard Rock Cafe were places we'd frequent...

Fast-forward to 12 years later, we're trying to maintain a certain fitness level so we don't get achey-breaky bones in time to come... and then playing mj just to pass time and chat. Being seen in hip joints or gyrating to the beat at some disco wasn't our 'thang' anymore. We'd really rather be playing mj, watching HK/Korean serials on DVD or simply sleeping in.

You seem to lose your friends as you grow older... and those that eventually stick around are the ones who would, well, continue to stick around *smiles*

So having friends to form one mj session, is indeed heartwarming because I know these people would be around for a long time to come.
