I was listening to an architectural presentation when the speaker mentioned the "global footprint", and asks the audience how many of us have done this. Curious, I googled, took the quiz and found out that if everyone lived like me, we would need 3.1 planets! *gasps*So what the hell is a "footprint"? No, you idiot! I'm not talking about the marks made from your foot...
The Ecological Footprint measures the amount of natural resources an individual, a community, or a country consumes in a given year.
Because people use resources from all over the world, and affect faraway places with their pollution, the Footprint is the sum of these areas wherever they are on the planet.
Hmm... I think I'm not so bad at 3.1 *ponders* The speaker scored 12 planets! *bah* So what's your score?
